Units
For teenage builders

School for kids who are already building

Build a company.
Get the diploma anyway.

You're building a startup, a content brand, a piece of software, or a publication — and school is the thing in the way. Units lets you earn real high school credit for the work you're already doing. Plus mentorship from founders, engineers, and operators who've been where you're trying to go.

Your work is the assignment

Your startup, podcast, code, paper — that's your portfolio. Our teachers assess what you've already built, and design the missing rigor on top.

Mentorship from real founders

Office hours with YC founders, engineers, and operators. We get you into rooms you wouldn't get into otherwise. Bring something to ask them.

Credits for what you ship

Real Ontario / US-accredited credits earned on your real projects. You're not picking between school and building. You're getting both at the same time.

Daniel got into YC at 18. His high school kicked him out for it.

The founder of Units was a public school kid who built a tool used by 12,000 teachers and got into Y Combinator with one semester of high school left. The school demitted him for going to YC. 78 teachers signed off on it.

Units is the school he wishes had existed. The one that treats your real work as the education — not the thing you have to sneak around to do.

Tell us what you're building. We'll tell you how to earn the diploma while you're doing it.
